UPHOLSTERY

The term car upholstery is typically in reference to the seats in your car, truck, or SUV. In all actuality, car upholstery is the entire interior of your vehicle including the roof, center console, and anywhere else that has fabric.

Dictionary.com defines upholstery as “the materials used to cushion and cover furniture.” Obviously, this situation applies to the different aspects of your vehicle’s interior, more specifically the seats. While your roof or center console can and should be reupholstered from time to time, they don’t typically get used or worn down as much as the seats. That’s why the simplest answer to the question “what is automotive upholstery” is the renewing and updating of the seats and trim in your vehicle.

REPAIR

There are various types of leather damage. It can tear, suffer burn holes, fade in sunlight, rip at the seam or become brittle. Leather can also become hard due to ageing.

To be perfectly honest, the vast majority of upholstery is in swell shape, even after years of use and abuse -- most of the repairs we make are due to unusual wear and tear or simply age.

We recommend regularly cleaning and conditioning your vinyl and leather interiors. Armorall isn't sufficient -- it doesn't clean effectively, and its finish is very waxy -- when we're repairing seats the waxy buildup is apparent and difficult to clean off (Our repair compounds and dyes will adhere to vinyl and leather but not  to Armorall).

Can you repair cracked vinyl?

Yes.!

Can you bring a convertible through a carwash?

Most convertibles are safe for automated car washes, according to the car wash industry. Millions of convertibles are washed successfully every day, and they are designed to do so without causing damage to the vehicle, although they are reccommened to hand wash over drive thru car washes.
